Liam is the lead at Balo Ireland. After our initial meeting in 2006, Liam retuned to India in 2007 on his annual volunteering trip. As he was walking down Sudder Street, he unexpectedly crossed paths with Betta. Although it had been two years since they had spoken, Liam and Betta remembered each other’s names and recognized one other immediately. Betta shared with him the work she was initiating with Balo, and Liam was hooked. He visited the school, and saw the children thriving, and he knew he could make a difference.
Liam visits Kolkata once or twice a year, and his fundraising success in Ireland continues to grow. He is currently raising 50,000-75,000 euro a year to support the operating costs of the Balo projects.
