We are excited about the progress our global Balo network is making in the lives of poor women and children in Kolkata, India. We appreciate your support of Balo USA, and we hope you will donate to help provide those in need with a better future.
Together with our sister organizations, Balo Italia, Ireland, and Malaysia, we raise funds to meet the needs of our students and young women. This year Balo USA is aiming to raise money to support the annual cost of building costs, teacher salaries, two hot meals a day for 350 students and 20 staff members, school supplies, uniforms, a safe home for girls in danger, women’s training programs, and micro loans.
All donations are used directly to support Balo’s programs in Kolkata. The Balo USA Board of Directors pays all of the operating costs of the nonprofit, so 100% of your donation goes directly to serving the poor. All donations are tax deductible. We also gladly accept matching funds from employers.

Balo English Medium School is located on Second Lane, Pilkhana in Kolkata. It is on the first floor of a new building and comprises 2,864 square feet.
The interior of the building has been tiled and divided into 10 classrooms, a staff room, kitchen, bathrooms, and a foyer which doubles as a play area.
We are grateful that we have been able to purchase several floors and parts of the building to ensure our premises and work for the future.
In addition to the school, our safe and compassionate home, Casabalo, serves girls in danger under the care of a kind and loving house mother. We also conduct our tailoring, vocational training, and hairdressing classes and activities there.
Balo USA is now a PayPal Giving Fund!
PayPal has recognized the Balo USA 501c3 nonprofit status and has included it as one of their charitable Giving Funds! Thank you PayPal! As a Giving Fund charity, PayPal does not charge any fees to our organization and they solicit donations from eBay.
One of the most amazing things about Balo USA is that EVERY DOLLAR donated goes directly to supporting the children, women, and families in need. Our board of directors is committed to covering all of the operating costs of the organization.
